This listing features a Early-Mid 1800's Alamo / Civil War Era "D" Stamped Brass & Rosewood Handled Bowie Knife. If this knife could talk! This is a very interesting looking knife with a nice brass hilt and Rosewood handle. It has an overall length of 15-11/16", and a blade length of 9-11/16".
There are only two marks on the whole knife, and both are a "D" stamp, one on the hilt, and one on the tang. This is a great piece to add to an existing collection, or to start a cool collection with.
Thank you for your interest. Handle Material: Rosewood & Brass. Color: Dark Reddish Brown, Brass, Grey Steel. Condition: Nice condition for it's age. Visible honing marks, wear, and some mild spots of discoloration on the blade.
One 3/4 ding on the top of the blade about mid-way. Brass Hilt and pommel has some visible surface marks, and a couple of light, minor dings.Handle has a 5/8" x 1/2" chip on one side right near the hilt. Notes: One "D" stamp on tang top corner on one side, and one "D" stamp on bottom center of hilt near the handle on same side (smooth side of handle side). The initials "TI" are etched lightly into the tang on the other side.
