The writing on the front cover is faded but I can make out the word " Presbyterian ". Some of the entries are handwritten directly in the ledger, other on a separate receipt attached to the ledger. Some of the attached receipts are on the Banking House of J & J Stuart & Co.
There are approximately 150 U. Internal Revenue 2 cent stamps. The use of Revenue Stamps on these receipts stopped sometime during the late 1870s. This extremely collectible piece of Civil War era ephemera is in fair condition with expected signs of wear, stains & foxing commensurate with age/use. Please see photos for details and judge the condition for yourself.
